AI is already part of their world. Let’s help them learn to use it well.

Children are curious about AI. They see what it can make and ask what else it can do. The important thing is helping them move from simply looking at AI creations to understanding how to guide the tools and make something of their own.

At TAG AI Kids Club, learners bring their imagination and ideas. AI gives them another way to explore. They make the choices.

That means your child isn’t just getting another screen activity. They’re getting a chance to create, solve problems, work with others and proudly explain what they made.

AI classes for kids and teens in Nairobi, Kenya: Two pathways to match what excites your child

Not every child wants to make the same thing. Some are drawn to stories, art and ideas about people. Others want to code, build robots and figure out how things work.

Both interests belong here.

Creative and Innovation AI classes for kids and teens

For children and teens who love stories, language, art, design, media, business ideas or exploring questions about people and society.

They might create a comic, develop a story, design a campaign or give a business idea its first name and look. Along the way, they practise expressing ideas, making creative choices and bringing their point of view to life.

STEM AI classes for kids and teens: Coding and robotics

For children and teens who love science, technology, coding, robotics and solving practical problems.

They might code a simple game, work on a robotics challenge or design and test a solution. They practise planning, logical thinking, patience and figuring out what to change when something doesn’t work.

This pathway is for learners following the CBC STEM pathway and for any child or teen interested in STEM. Your child doesn’t need to have chosen a school pathway to join.

Children working together during a robotics session

A creative AI course for kids who love to imagine

What might your child make in the Creative and Innovation Pathway?

A story set in a world they invented

They create characters, build a setting and explore what happens next.

A comic or illustrated story

They turn an idea into scenes, dialogue and visuals.

A campaign about something they care about

They decide what they want people to understand, then create content to get the message across.

A brand for an original business idea

They think about who it’s for, choose a name and create the beginnings of its visual identity.

The finished project matters. So does the moment your child realises, “I came up with that. I made that.”

AI, coding and robotics for kids who love to build

What might your child make in the STEM Pathway?

A coded game or interactive story

They plan how it works, build a simple version and test it.

A robot with a challenge to complete

They explore how to design, code or programme a robot to perform a task.

A solution to a practical problem

They choose something they would like to improve, then design and test a possible solution.

A project they can debug and improve

They learn to work through errors, try changes and see what happens.

When AI is useful, they’ll learn to use it as a helper. They still have to think, build, test and decide for themselves.

What they learn goes beyond one project

An AI course for kids should do more than teach children what buttons to press. The goal is to help them become more thoughtful and confident creators.

Think critically

Does this answer make sense? Is it right for the project? They learn to question AI instead of accepting every result.

Turn an idea into steps

They practise breaking a big idea into smaller things they can work on.

Give AI better direction

They learn to explain what they want, add details and try again when the result misses the mark.

Keep going when something goes wrong

A code error, a story that isn’t working or a robot that won’t do what they planned becomes a chance to troubleshoot and improve.

Make their own choices

AI can offer possibilities. Your child decides what to keep, what to change and what the final project should be.

Work with other young creators

They share ideas, solve challenges together and learn how another person might approach the same problem.

How the group classes work

You might be wondering: if every child has a different idea, how does the teaching work?

Children are grouped by age and pathway. The instructor teaches a shared skill to each group, then the learners apply it to their own projects.

In the Creative and Innovation Pathway, the shared skill might be planning a story. One team could make a comic, another could develop a mystery and another could plan a short video.

In the STEM Pathway, the shared skill might be breaking a challenge into steps. Learners could use it to plan a coding project, a game or a robotics activity.

The instructor demonstrates the skill, guides the activity and supports learners as they work. So your child can follow an idea they care about while still learning as part of a group.

Each session lasts three hours. Across 10 sessions, learners have time to explore an idea, make a first version, improve it and share what they’ve created.

How this connects with what they learn at school

If your child is drawn to language, social questions, art or sport, the Creative and Innovation Pathway gives them room to use those interests in a hands-on project.

If they love science, technology, coding or robotics, the STEM Pathway gives them room to experiment and apply what they’re learning.

Both pathways offer practice in creativity, communication, collaboration, critical thinking and digital literacy. The club is designed to complement school learning by giving children time to apply ideas and skills through projects of their own.

The part parents love: hearing them tell you about it

Imagine the conversation after class.

Your child is telling you about the character they invented, the game their team is building or the robot they’re trying to get working. They’re explaining what they changed and why.

They’re not just showing you something AI produced. They’re showing you their thinking, their choices and what they helped make.

At the end of the program, learners can share their projects with the group and their families.
