Looking for an SEO Course in Kenya? I Want to Teach You More Than Just Google SEO.
Think about the last time you wanted to find a product, service or business.
A few years ago, you probably went straight to Google.
People still do that. But that’s not the only way we search anymore.
- We search on Google.
- We look at Google Maps.
- We get answers from Google AI Overviews.
- And now we ask AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity.
The way people look for products, services and businesses online has changed.
So if I’m teaching you SEO today, I don’t want to teach you SEO as if it’s still 2015.
I Don’t Just Teach Search Engine Optimisation. I Teach Search Everywhere Optimisation.
And this is something I want you to understand from the beginning of this SEO and AI Search course.
Traditional SEO asks:
“How do I get this business found on Google?”
Search Everywhere Optimisation asks a bigger question:
“When someone is looking for what this business sells, where are they looking—and how do we make sure they can find us there?”
Sometimes that’s Google. Sometimes it’s Google Maps. Sometimes they’re asking on AI tools like ChatGPT.
Sometimes they’re looking at an AI search result like an AI Overview without clicking on a traditional SEO result at all.
And tomorrow there will probably be another way people search.
That’s why I don’t want to teach you a collection of SEO tricks that only work for one platform.
I want to teach you how to understand how people search, what they’re looking for and how to make a business easier to discover wherever that search happens.
That’s what I mean when I say:
Search Everywhere Optimisation
If someone is looking for what you sell, I want them to be able to find you everywhere they choose to search—whether that’s on Google, Google Maps, Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity or whatever way of searching comes next.
By Now, You’ve Probably Realised That YouTube Won’t Turn You Into an SEO Specialist.
You Know What Will? Learning From an SEO Expert Who Has Been Doing This for More Than 10 Years—and Still Does SEO Every Day.
So, Who Will You Be Learning SEO From?
Meet Freddie Ngunju — SEO & AI Search Expert, Doing SEO Since 2012
I’ve been doing SEO for so long that when I started in 2012, SEO was keyword stuffing and article spinning.
Yes, article spinning. That’s how long I’ve been doing SEO.
I’ve literally watched SEO evolve.
I’ve seen Google update its algorithm again and again. I’ve watched tactics we used back then stop working. I’ve watched technology change how we do SEO, how Google understands websites and how people search.
And now I’m watching AI change search all over again.
So I’m not someone who discovered SEO recently and decided to teach it.
I’ve built my career doing SEO.
For much of that career, I’ve worked with international clients—from ecommerce and Amazon brands to online gambling companies in the United States and other highly competitive industries.
I’ve also done SEO here at home in Kenya, working with major local brands and organisations including Longhorn Publishers, the College of Human Resource Management (CHRM), Getrio Insurance Brokers and many more through TAG Creative Digital Marketing, the award-winning digital marketing agency I co-founded.
And after all those years, I still do SEO every day.
That’s why when I teach you, I’m not teaching you SEO from a textbook.
I’m teaching you from more than a decade of actually doing the work, watching SEO change, adapting with it and doing SEO for real businesses both here in Kenya and internationally.
Real Google Reviews
Real SEO & AI Search Training Reviews From Kenyan Businesses and Learners
Don’t just take my word for it. Here’s what business owners, marketing teams and organisations in Kenya say about learning and doing SEO with Freddie Ngunju.
As a business owner, I found Freddie's SEO training incredibly helpful. What made it different was that we used my own website during the training. Instead of learning from random examples, I could see exactly how SEO applied to my business, which made everything much easier to understand. Even after the training, I've reached out to Freddie several times for SEO advice, and she's always willing to help and point me in the right direction. That's not something you come across every day. If you're looking for someone to train you on SEO in a practical, easy-to-follow way, I highly recommend Freddie.
We were looking for an SEO expert in Nairobi that could help us understand why our website wasn't attracting customers and we have not been dissapointed so far. We wanted SEO services but Freddie insisted on SEO and AI search training also so that our marketing team could understand how to navigate these AI times we are living in now. If you need someone an SEO expert and professional to help you with how customers are finding your business on Google, then this is a match. Also great for SEO training for marketing teams which we are enjoying.
Walking SEO encyclopedia! And she does such a good job of not overcomplicating it like some people! Also educated us about AI search and how it is changing in Kenya and what we can do to prepare and make sure our website is being shown in AI results. Highly recommend!
Freddie came and trained our church media team how to use Google ad Grants to put ourselves in front of worshippers on Google search. She also helped us work on our website which had not been appearing in the search results for a while. She taught us how SEO is done and introduced us to AI search and the idea of AEO and GEO and how we could ensure that our church pops up in AI searches and ChatGPT. These are things we had never considered before as a media team and we are better for it! We continue to work together and are excited about all the digital marketing changes we are making. Hire Freddie Ngunju if you are looking for an SEO amd AI search expert that will not complicate things for you. She makes it easy to understand and most of us had never encountered SEO before.

What You’ll Be Able to Do
By the End of This SEO Training Course, What Will You Actually Be Able to Do?
By the End of This SEO Training Course, You’ll Know How to Actually Do SEO.
My goal isn’t for you to finish this course with a notebook full of SEO definitions.
I want you to be able to open a real website and know what to do.
By the end of the training, you’ll be able to:
Look at a Website and Know Where to Start
Instead of wondering, “What am I supposed to do first?”, you’ll know how to audit a website, look at the data, identify SEO problems and decide what needs to be worked on.
Find Out What Potential Customers Are Actually Searching For
You’ll be able to do keyword research, understand search intent and identify the words, questions and searches people are using when looking for a business’s products or services.
Work Out Why Competitors Are Appearing Above You on Google
You’ll know how to analyse the Google search results, investigate competitors and understand what the businesses appearing in the top results may be doing that your website isn’t.
Optimise a Website Page by Page
You’ll know how to take your keyword research and actually use it to optimise page titles, headings, website copy, meta descriptions, images, URLs, internal links and page structure.
Help a Local Business Get Found on Google & Google Maps
You’ll understand Local SEO and know how to optimise a Google Business Profile and other important local search signals.
Do SEO for an Ecommerce Website or Online Shop
You’ll understand how SEO applies to product pages, categories and collections, product descriptions, images and the searches people make when they’re looking for products to buy online.
Create SEO Content Based on What Customers Are Already Looking For
Instead of guessing what to write about, you’ll know how to find the questions and topics people are searching for and turn them into useful website pages, landing pages and blog content.
Build Backlinks and Website Authority
You’ll understand how backlinks, citations, brand mentions and other off-page signals help build a website’s authority—and how to start building them properly.
Understand What It Takes to Get a Business Found in AI Search
You’ll understand how AI Search differs from traditional Google Search and what you can do to make a business easier to understand and discover through Google AI Overviews and AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity.
Use the SEO Tools Professionals Actually Use
You’ll know how to work with Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and the other tools we use during the training—not just know what they’re called.

You’ll be able to look at Search Console and Analytics and understand whether visibility, clicks and organic traffic are improving, which pages are working and where there are opportunities to do better.
Know What to Do Next
This is one of the most important outcomes for me. SEO isn’t something you do once and finish. You’ll know how to look at the results, work out what’s working and what isn’t, and decide what your next SEO action should be.
The Most Important Outcome
Most Importantly, I Want You to Be Able to Say: “Yes, I Can Do SEO.”
Marketing Officers and Marketing Executives
If you’re a marketing officer or marketing executive, I want you to be able to confidently take responsibility for SEO instead of feeling like it’s the part of marketing you don’t understand.
Business Owners
If you’re a business owner, I want you to understand how to improve your own search visibility and know what should be happening when someone else is doing SEO for you.
Freelancers and Digital Creatives
If you’re a freelancer, web designer, graphic designer or digital marketer, I want you to be able to add SEO to the services you offer and confidently say yes when a client asks, “Do you also do SEO?”
Complete Beginners, Students and Graduates
If you’re a complete beginner, student or graduate, I want you to leave with a practical digital skill you’ve actually used—not something you’ve only studied.
Because ultimately, that’s how I’ll know this training has done its job:
Someone gives you a real business and a real website and asks, “Can you help us get found?”
And you know where to start.
Yes, I Can.
The SEO & AI Search Course Curriculum
What Will You Actually Learn in This SEO & AI Search Course?
We Start With the Basics. Then We Open Real Websites and Start Doing SEO.
I’m not expecting you to arrive already knowing what SEO, AEO, GEO, backlinks, indexing or any of these things mean.
I’ll teach you from the beginning.
But once you understand the basics, I don’t want us spending the rest of the course talking about SEO.
I want us to start doing SEO.
We’ll open real websites, set up the tools we need, look at what’s stopping them from being found, research what customers are searching for, analyse the businesses already appearing in the top search results, optimise pages, create content, build authority and then use real data to see whether what we’ve done is working.
Here’s how we’ll do it.
Eight Practical SEO Modules
Select any module to see exactly what you’ll learn and practise during the course.
01
Module 1
SEO, AI Search, AEO & GEO Training for Complete Beginners
First, Let’s Understand What SEO Actually Is—and What It’s Becoming.
Before we start doing SEO, I want you to understand what we’re doing and why we’re doing it.
We’ll start right at the beginning.
I’ll also introduce you to different website backends including WordPress, Shopify, Wix and Squarespace, so when we start doing the practical work, you understand where everything happens.
- What is SEO?
- How does Google Search work?
- How does Google find and index website pages?
- What does it actually mean to optimise a website?
- What is the difference between SEO and SEM?
- What is AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation)?
- What is GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation)?
- What is AI Search and how does it work?
- How is AI changing the way people search?
- Where is SEO actually done on a website?
02
Module 2
Local SEO Training & Google Business Profile Training — Getting
Businesses Found on Google Maps
How Do You Get a Business Found When Customers Search for What It Sells Nearby?
This is where we start getting practical.
We’ll look at Local SEO and how businesses become easier to find through local Google searches and Google Maps.
We’ll work through how Local SEO is actually done.
- Setting up and optimising a Google Business Profile
- Choosing the right business categories
- Optimising business information
- Understanding Google Maps visibility
- Local keyword research
- Reviews and why they matter
- Local business citations and consistent business information online
- Looking at the businesses already appearing in local search and understanding what they’re doing well
03
Module 3
Website SEO Setup, Technical SEO Training & SEO Auditing
Module 3: How to set up a website for SEO
In this module, we'll get on the backend of the website (WordPress) and set up tools like Google Search Console, Google Analytics & Microsoft Clarity and learn how to use them.
Someone Has Given You a Website to Do SEO. Where Do You Start?
This is one of the most important things I want to teach you.
Before I start changing things on a website, I first need to understand what’s going on.
Is Google finding the website?
Which pages are indexed?
Is the website already getting traffic?
What searches is it already appearing for?
Are there technical problems?
Which pages are performing well?
Which pages aren’t?
I’ll show you how I look at a website for the first time, carry out a basic SEO audit and work out what needs our attention first.
Then we’ll set up and learn how to use the tools we’ll need throughout the course. This includes practical Google Search Console training, so you can see how a website is performing on Google and identify what may be stopping it from being found.
Tools We’ll Set Up and Use
- Google Search Console—so we can see how the website is performing on Google
- Google Analytics 4—so we can understand who is visiting the website and what they’re doing
- Google Site Kit—where appropriate, to connect important Google tools to a WordPress website
- Microsoft Clarity—so we can actually see how visitors interact with important website pages
- XML sitemaps—what they are and how to submit them to search engines
Technical SEO Basics
- Crawling and indexing
- Why Google may not be indexing a page
- Website and URL structure
- XML sitemaps
- Broken links
- Redirects
- Mobile friendliness
- Website speed and Core Web Vitals
- Duplicate pages and canonical URLs
- An introduction to structured data and schema
04
Module 4
SEO Keyword Research Course, Search Intent & Competitor Research
Who Do We Want to Find This Business—and What Are They Actually Searching For?
Before we start changing website pages, we need to understand who we want to find us and what they’re actually looking for.
We’ll ask:
Which customers do we want this business to be discovered by?
What are those people typing into Google when they’re looking for what this business sells?
What questions are they asking?
What words are they using?
And what are they actually hoping to find when they make that search?
I’ll show you how I do keyword research and how we use that research to decide which searches a website should target.
But we’re not going to stop there.
We’ll Google Those Searches and See Who Is Already Winning.
If we want a business to appear in the top Google results, we need to understand who is already there and why.
- Which competitors appear in the top results
- Which pages are ranking
- What those pages contain
- Which keywords competitors are targeting
- What type of content Google is showing
- Whether the results contain websites, Google Maps, products, videos, articles or AI Overviews
- What competitors may be doing that our website isn’t doing yet
This is called SERP and competitor analysis, and I’ll show you how I actually use it when doing SEO.
You’ll also learn search intent—understanding what someone actually wants when they type something into Google.
Understanding that difference helps us decide which page we need and what should be on it.
For ecommerce businesses, we’ll also look specifically at product and category keyword research and how people search when they’re ready to compare or buy products online.
05
Module 5
On-Page SEO & AI Search Optimisation — Let’s Start Optimising
the Website
We Have the Keywords. Now What Do We Actually Do With Them?
This is where everything starts coming together.
We’ve worked out who we want to find the business.
We’ve discovered what they’re searching for.
We’ve looked at their search intent.
We’ve analysed who is already appearing.
Now we’re going to do something with that information.
I’ll open real website pages and show you how I optimise them page by page.
I’ll explain what I’m changing, where I’m changing it and why.
- Page titles
- H1, H2 and H3 headings
- Website copy
- Meta descriptions
- URLs
- Images and alt text
- Internal links
- Page structure
- Search intent
- Structured data and schema basics
If You’re Working on an Ecommerce Website
- Product page SEO
- Category and collection page SEO
- Product titles
- Product descriptions
- Product images
- Internal linking between products and categories
- Shopify and WooCommerce SEO considerations
And throughout this module, we’ll also look at what we can do to make a website, business, brand and its information easier to understand and discover through AI Search and tools like ChatGPT.
06
Module 6
SEO Copywriting & Content
What Should You Write About If You Want Customers to Find You Through Search?
One thing I want you to stop doing after this course is creating content just because somebody said:
SEO gives us a much better starting point.
What are our customers already searching for?
What questions are they asking?
What problems are they trying to solve?
What information are they looking for before they’re ready to buy?
What information is missing from our website that competitors are already answering?
I’ll show you how to use keyword research, search intent and competitor research to decide what content is actually worth creating.
- SEO website copy
- Landing pages
- Blog articles
- Content planning
- Content gaps
- Updating existing content
- Internal linking
- Content that answers real customer questions
- Creating clear, useful information that can be understood by both traditional search engines and AI Search
For ecommerce businesses, we’ll also look at content that can attract customers before they’re ready to buy, answer product questions and lead people naturally towards your products.
07
Module 7
Off-Page SEO, Backlinks, Brand Mentions, PR & Building Website
Authority
Sometimes What’s Stopping You From Ranking Isn’t on Your Website.
You can optimise a website beautifully and still find competitors appearing above you.
Why?
Because Google doesn’t only look at what you say about yourself on your own website.
It also looks for signals elsewhere online that help it understand whether your website, business and brand are credible and authoritative.
This is where we’ll talk about off-page SEO.
- What backlinks actually are
- Why websites link to each other
- Why some backlinks are much more valuable than others
- How to find backlink opportunities
- Practical ways to build backlinks
- What you should avoid when building links
- How to research competitors’ backlinks
- Business citations
- Brand mentions
- How businesses build authority beyond their own websites
- How website and domain authority affect your ability to compete in search
We’ll also talk about why being mentioned and referenced on credible websites around the internet matters as we start thinking beyond traditional Google SEO and towards Search Everywhere Optimisation and AI Search.
08
Module 8
Measuring, Reporting & Improving SEO
We Did the SEO. Now Let’s Look at What Happened.
I don’t want you finishing this course making SEO changes and then sitting back hoping they worked.
I want you to know how to check.
We’ll go back to the tools we set up earlier and look at real data.
Then we’ll use Google Analytics 4 to understand what happens after those people reach the website.
Are people actually coming from organic search?
Which pages are they landing on?
What are they doing once they arrive?
Are those visitors turning into enquiries, leads or customers?
And we’ll use Microsoft Clarity to look even closer at how people are actually using important pages.
But I don’t just want to teach you how to read the numbers.
Using Google Search Console, I’ll Show You How to See:
- What people are searching before they find your website
- Which searches your website is appearing for
- Which pages are being discovered
- How many impressions you’re getting
- How many people are clicking
- Your average search positions
- Whether your search visibility is improving
- Where there may be opportunities to improve further
I Want You to Know What to Do Next.
If a page is appearing on Google but nobody is clicking it, what should we change?
If a page is sitting just outside the top search results, what can we improve?
If people are finding the website but aren’t enquiring or buying, what can Analytics and Clarity tell us?
If rankings drop, where do we start looking?
You’ll learn how to take what the data is telling you and turn it into your next SEO action.
Do the SEO → Hope it works
It’s:
RESEARCH → OPTIMISE → MEASURE → LEARN → IMPROVE
And by the end of this course, that’s the process I want you to know how to follow whenever someone puts a website in front of you and says:
Click a module heading to open or close its full course content.

How Does This Online SEO Course in Kenya Work?
8 Weeks of Live Online SEO Training
You’re learning live with me, not buying a collection of pre-recorded videos and being left to figure everything out yourself.
For eight weeks, we’ll meet online every week and learn SEO together. You’ll be able to see what I’m doing, follow along, ask questions and practise what you’re learning as we go.
Live Classes, Small Groups and Personal SEO Support
You will learn in a live environment where you can watch, participate, practise and ask for help when you need it.
3 Days a Week of Live SEO Classes Online
We’ll have three live group classes every week.
This is where I’ll teach you SEO step by step, share my screen and show you how I actually do the work.
We’ll open websites, research keywords, look at Google search results, set up tools, optimise pages and work through the different parts of SEO together.
And because we’re live, if you don’t understand something, ask me.
Small Classes Where You Can Actually Ask Questions
I deliberately want to keep the classes small.
SEO can get confusing very quickly when you’re learning it for the first time, and I don’t want you getting lost in a class where you’re afraid to put your hand up and say:
- Ask.
- If something isn’t working, show me.
- If you want me to explain something again, tell me.
That’s why we’re learning live.
1 Day a Week of One-on-One SEO Support
Although we’ll be learning together in a group, I know you’re not all coming to me for the same reason.
- One person might be a business owner with an online shop who wants to get their products found on Google.
- Someone else might be a marketing officer who needs to learn how to do SEO for the company they work for.
- Someone might be a freelancer who wants to add SEO to the services they already offer.
- Another person might be completely new to SEO and wants to learn it so they can eventually start an SEO business, get clients and earn from the skill.
You’re all learning SEO.
But what you want to do with SEO is different.
That’s why, in addition to our three group classes, I’ve set aside one day every week for one-on-one sessions.
This is where we can focus on you.
Your business.
Your website.
Your career goal.
The client you’re working with.
The thing you didn’t understand in class.
Or whatever you’re trying to achieve with the SEO skills you’re learning.
Class Recordings You Can Go Back To
The group classes are recorded.
So if something didn’t completely make sense the first time, you can go back and watch that lesson again while you’re practising.
And if you have to miss a class, you’ll have the recording to help you catch up.

Looking for SEO & AI Search Training for Your Marketing Team?
If you’re looking for SEO training for your company’s marketing, digital or communications team, we offer customised Corporate SEO & AI Search Training in Kenya.
First, We Look at What’s Actually Happening
Your company’s current visibility shapes the training.
- When customers search Google for the products and services your company sells, does your company appear in the top results?
- Which searches are your competitors appearing for that you’re not?
- Are there problems on your website that are making it harder for Google to find, understand or rank your pages?
- Are potential customers finding your company on Google Maps?
- Does your website have the content people are actually searching for?
- And when someone asks ChatGPT or another AI tool to recommend companies that provide what you sell, does your company get mentioned?
We also look at what your marketing team already knows how to do and what they need to learn to improve your company’s SEO and AI Search themselves.
Then we build the training around the actual problems we find and the practical skills your team needs to solve them.
Your Team Will Learn SEO Using Your Actual Company
Instead of teaching your team SEO using random websites and examples, we’ll use your company’s actual website, products, services, competitors and customers during the training.
Keyword Research Using Real Customer Searches
When I teach keyword research, we’ll research what your customers are actually searching for.
Competitor Research Based on Your Market
When I teach competitor research, we’ll look at the companies appearing above you on Google and work out why.
On-Page SEO Using Your Website
When I teach on-page SEO, we’ll look at your website pages, what is stopping them from performing better and what needs to change.
Your Google Search Console and Analytics Data
When I teach Google Search Console and Google Analytics, we’ll look at your company’s actual data and what it’s telling us.
Your Company’s AI Search Visibility
And when I teach AI Search, we’ll look at whether your company is being found and mentioned when people use ChatGPT and other AI tools to look for the products and services you sell.
Your team won’t finish the training knowing SEO in theory and then have to figure out how to apply it to your business afterwards. They’ll be learning SEO by working on the SEO and AI Search problems your company actually has.
Let’s Discuss SEO Training for Your Team
Tell us about your company, your marketing team and the SEO or AI Search challenges you want the training to address.
